His brow furrowed, light picking up on the edges of the scar on his face. Bailey lifted a hand then. She knew she shouldn’t have but she did. She touched that scar gently and came up on the tips of her toes so that her mouth could be aligned with it. Then she licked him there, right over the bumpy pieces of his skin, she licked from one end to the other.
He was the one to go still at that moment, until it seemed as if something inside him snapped and the hand that had been on her juncture shifted. Those fingers dipped inside of her at that moment. It wasn’t a soft and slow motion, but a deliberate and breath-stealing one, as he dragged them between her now damp folds in quick succession. He plunged them deep inside her core and Bailey hissed, her hands going to his shoulders to keep herself steady. She had no idea how many fingers were inside her at the moment, only that she was filled and she was aroused. That was all, but somehow it wasn’t enough.
He pulled away just as abruptly as he’d touched her, bringing his hand up between their faces. She could smell her own scent on his fingers as she watched through half closed lids. Devlin sucked her essence off one of his fingers, moaning as he completed the task. Bailey melted against him, her gaze transfixed on his motions. He shifted only slightly, offering her another damp finger, rubbing it along her bottom lip, the scent of herself mingling with the vanilla aroma floating about the room. Her tongue snaked out tentatively, touching the pad of his finger.
“Take it,” he instructed. “Take it all.”
She circled her tongue around his finger, feeling the blood thumping through her veins as she tasted herself on him. In seconds she was suckling his finger, accepting it as he pushed it deeper into her mouth. When he drew it away, he returned with two fingers that Bailey now suckled. She licked and sucked until she thought for sure every drop of her was clear from him.
Then he pushed her back.
She almost fell, but instead only stumbled as the back of her legs met the bed. Startled, Bailey sat on the edge of the bed and looked at him. Devlin’s hands moved to the belt buckle of his pants. It was a wide silver buckle that glistened in the candlelight as he undid it and pulled the belt from his waist. She watched the way he handled that belt, slapping it against the floor with a cracking sound that had her jumping and creaming at the same time. When he tossed the belt aside Bailey struggled to catch her breath. He removed the sweater he’d been wearing and the undershirt beneath it. His chest was now bare but when she’d reached out to touch him, he’d slapped her hands away as if admonishing her.
Bailey’s arms immediately went to her side. She didn’t know why. Had never been in this position before. But she wasn’t walking away. Wasn’t going to say a word to stop what was quickly becoming one of the most erotic moments of her life.
Devlin leaned forward, taking off his boots and pushing them to the side of the bed. When he stood to look at her again, he didn’t smile. Instead he came closer, bent his head and took one puckered nipple between his teeth. Bailey gasped at the quick pleasure/pain spikes that soared through her on contact. He grabbed the other breast, squeezing it tightly as he continued to hold the other nipple between his teeth, applying just enough pressure to have Bailey moaning and clenching her fists.
After a few seconds—of which Bailey thought she might actually melt from the heat he’d turned up between them—Devlin switched sides. He pulled his mouth away from the one breast, dropping his hand off the other one. Then he was biting the nipple of the breast that had been squeezed like a lemon, palming the other with the same urgency. Bailey sucked in air through her teeth because she refused to scream. Something told her that Devlin wanted the scream. She wasn’t ready to give it to him. Not just yet.
When he was finished with her breasts this time, Devlin’s hands moved up and down her arms, warming her, enticing her. He didn’t speak and neither did she. When he leaned in closer and licked the inside of her ear, Bailey whimpered.
“Take off my pants,” he whispered in her ear before pulling back to wait while she did as he’d asked.
Bailey didn’t waste a moment. She leaned forward to undo the button of his pants. Next she slipped the zipper down and moved her hands inside. He was warm there, her palms against his boxers while his jeans pressed against the backs of her hands. As she moved her hands around his body she began to push his pants down his legs. When they’d gone as far as her arms could reach, Bailey stood up from the bed and then bent down, pushing his pants down strong hairy legs, until he lifted one foot and then the next so that she could take them completely off. It didn’t bother her that she was already naked and was now undressing him. No, not at all. Especially not when she came slowly upward so that her cheek brushed his hard length when she passed his midsection.
He grabbed her shoulders roughly when she’d paused there, shaking her until she looked up at him.
“Take them off,” he stated intently.
Once again Bailey did as he said, putting her fingers beneath the rim of his boxers and pushing them down. His length had already begun to poke through the opening, so she’d had to touch him. Gripping his rigid rod with her hand, wrapping her fingers around his warm girth, and adjusting him so that she could continue to push the material down his legs. When he’d stepped out of those, Bailey had looked at his length again. She was still kneeling in front of him, her mouth watering. Just as she was about to lean forward, to touch his tip with her tongue, she felt herself being lifted.
Devlin picked her up from where she knelt, cradling her in his arms like she was a baby. He lowered his mouth to hers and thrust his tongue deeply inside, kissing her with an urgency that made every part of her body tingle. Bailey was still in the haze of that kiss when Devlin took a step and let her go. She flopped down onto the bed, the quick prick of the rose thorns against the skin of her back, bottom and legs. She would have jumped up screaming if Devlin hadn’t placed his palm over her navel, holding her still.
Bailey looked up at him in question as he licked two fingers on his other hand and touched them to the swollen lips of her pussy. She sighed then, the urge to get up off the bed tampered by the need to have him continue touching her just like this. He stroked her from her clit and back to let his fingers dip teasingly into her center. Back and forth, over and over again as he continued to hold her steady with his other hand, the sounds from his ministrations echoing in the quiet room.
She tried to breathe slowly, tried to keep her eyes from fluttering shut, tried like hell not to come all over his hand. But damn it was hard. It was harder than anything Bailey could imagine at this moment. So when he suddenly stopped, she wanted to scream.
“Hold still,” he directed.
She watched him through lust clouded eyes as he moved about. He was putting on a condom. Okay, she understood that perfectly. Her body was on edge, need pricking against her mind with the same urgency the thorns pressed against her back. He walked around to the side of the bed. Bailey turned her head to see what he was doing. She watched, transfixed, as Devlin ran his fingers over the crackling flames of the three candles that stood there. A part of her wanted to ask what the hell he was doing, or better yet, what the hell he planned to do, but she remained silent, her teeth biting gently into her lower lip.
When Devlin picked up the candle in the center—the blue one—and looked over at her, Bailey’s heart beat just a little bit faster.
“Are you afraid of me, Bailey?” he asked while he rubbed a finger up and down the sides of the candle.
“No,” was her immediate reply.
He’d grasped the candle, holding it the same way Bailey pictured holding his length in her hand. “Do you want to play with me?”
She knew she wanted him inside of her. Right now. If that’s what he meant by play, then she was all for it. “Yes,” she answered before she had a chance to explore other meanings of the word “play”.
If Devlin were happy about her acquiescence he didn’t speak or show it. He simply touched a line of wax that had dripped down the
side of the candle and then leaned over the bed to tap that finger to Bailey’s puckered nipple. She jumped and gasped, expecting to feel immediate pain, but there was none. Just a gentle warmth that began to spread slowly throughout her chest. He knelt onto the bed then, being careful to hold the candle away from her body, but still touching another finger coated with wax to her other nipple.
This time Bailey shivered, even though she was feeling nothing but warmth.
“I’ve dreamt of this,” he said, his voice low and so deep she barely recognized it. “I know I shouldn’t have, but I’ve dreamt of you, Bailey. More than any other dream. Ever.”
“Devlin,” she whispered and wanted to reach out and touch him.
But he’d straddled her while he was speaking. His knees were at her sides, but he did not sit any of his weight on her. Instead, he held that blue candle over her, tilting it so that the wax dripped down the path between her breasts.
She hissed, bit down harder on her lip and closed her eyes.
“It’s a special candle,” the told her, just before she felt his fingers on her skin, directing the wax beneath her breasts. “It heats at a very low temperature because the idea is not to burn, but to excite you.”
Well hell, Bailey thought, if she grew anymore excited she was likely to spontaneously combust.
“Dev…” His name was cut off, the whisper dying in her throat as he poured more wax over her breasts.
With his other hand he smoothed the wax over the entire upper half of her body. It felt like a massage straight from heaven. Bailey melted into the mattress, forgetting the scent of the roses and their prickly thorns at her back. It was the perfect mixture, she thought somewhere in her pleasure filled mind. A delicate and fragrant blend of pleasure and pain that had her center throbbing with expectancy.
He backed up, still tipping that candle so that wax now dripped down her torso, running into her navel. Bailey clenched the sheets, closing her eyes so tightly she thought she might actually squeeze out a tear or two. There was just no real way to describe how good this felt. As she moved there was scraping against her back, and the thought of screaming or getting the hell up was real. But then the wax touched her skin again. It soothed every irritated nerve, coating all the pain and unease in such a simplistic and mind shattering way she could do nothing but sigh. And when his hand touched the wax, when he moved over her body, she could only sigh some more.
Sometime while she was floating on her pleasure/pain high, Devlin blew out that candle, tossed it onto the floor and lifted her thighs. When he slid his length into her it was with one smooth stroke, filling her so completely all she could do was whisper his name.
“Devlin.”
“Yes,” was his slow reply as he propped her ankles up onto his shoulders. “Say it again.”
He was rubbing her ankles as he circled his hips, his length gliding along the honeyed walls of her core, starting a delectable friction that had her fingers trembling.
“Devlin.”
“Yes,” he whispered and moaned.
He continued stroking inside her, moving just slow enough to make her yearn for more.
Bailey lifted her hips in an effort to increase the tension.
“Shhhh.” He rubbed her calves and kissed the tip of her toes. “Take it easy. I want you to feel nothing but me.”
“I do,” she gasped. “Oh yes, I do.”
He grasped her ankles again, this time spreading her legs into a V.
“Just me,” he continued and pulled out of her, slipping slowly, tortuously inside of her once more. “Just me.”
The words he’d spoken echoed in Devlin’s head. He wanted Bailey to be filled with him, consumed with him…in love with him.
No, he thought with a start and clamped his lips shut tight. There was no love here. Only desire. Only need.
He moved quicker now. Pulling out of her and thrusting back in. The sensations rippling through his body in response were heavenly. She hugged his dick like a glove, sucking him in tightly, giving her slick essence to him as he slipped out effortlessly. Her firm breasts were beautiful. He watched them through heavy lidded eyes as he pumped. They were coated with the blue wax, still jiggling as he moved over her, nipples still hard. The wax had dried in messy splashes all over her, the sight fueling Dev’s desire.
He needed his release. He needed all the pleasure he’d envisioned and he needed it now. This was going to make it better. The stinging jealousy he’d felt when she’d wrapped herself in Cade’s arms, the way she’d laughed for him and relaxed for him, had Devlin going insane. He’d left the hotel room because he couldn’t stand the strange emotions soaring through him at the sight. The guy was her cousin, dammit. There was no reason he should have felt anything about the way Bailey squealed with delight at seeing him. It was insane. Everything that concerned her and him was just fucking insane!
This pleasure was unreal. Dev continued to pump in and out of her. She called his name. She grabbed the sheets beneath her. She gritted her teeth and then she moaned with delight. Her hair was wild around her head, her eyes hazed and sultry looking as she stared up at him, welcoming him, daring him to give her more.
Dev pulled out of her quickly. He was breathing too fast, his heart pumping too hard. She looked too good. This felt too right. He was about to get off the bed, to leave the room, to do something to get his mind together.
But Bailey moved faster. In the next seconds she had lifted up and was now pushing Dev back on the bed. Another few inches and his head would have been totally dangling off the side. Hell, he might have even slipped off the bed to land on the floor with it, but she grabbed hold of his shoulders. And as he adjusted his legs so that they were now straight, Bailey climbed on top of him. She had only to angle her hips and drop down for his dick to be fully ensconced in her heat once more.
“I’ve had dreams too, Devlin,” she told him as she sat straight up on top of him.
She lifted her arms, to push her hair back behind her shoulders. Dev watched her breasts rise with the action. He swallowed and then because he thought he might actually die if he didn’t, he lifted his hands to palm each one.
“Yes,” she hissed and let her head fall back. “That’s exactly what you do in my dream, Devlin. Tighter, baby. Squeeze them tighter.”
He did as she asked, cursing beneath his breath at how good it felt to hear her give him direction.
She bounced up and down on him, pulling out and thrusting him back in. The sound was glorious, the deep suction and release. The feeling was intense, swirling inside of him like a torrential storm.
“Bailey,” her name tumbled free, followed by a guttural moan.
“This is how I like to come,” she said, her voice hoarse with desire. “Just…like…this…”
Dev moved his hands from her breasts then, grabbing hold of her hips and guiding her thrusts to meet his forceful pumps.
“Like this?” he asked. “Look at me! Look at me and tell me!”
She did. Dropping her head so that her hair rained around her face, her hazel eyes gleaming as they locked with his.
“Yes, baby. Like this,” she told him. “Just, like this. Like this.”
“Like this,” Dev heard himself repeat as his arms began to tremble, his body quaking with pleasure.
She was hot and feisty, demanding and compassionate, strong and tenacious. She was everything. Dammit, she was everything and he didn’t know why. He didn’t know how. He didn’t want it. None of this. And yet, he couldn’t stop. He wouldn’t stop.
Bailey yelled her release, her body going taut over his. “Like this!” she yelled once more.
Dev was only seconds behind her, his release pulsing into the tip of the condom with heated spurts that he prayed would stay contained. “Yes, like this!” he moaned with her.
Just like this.
Chapter 9
Bailey’s fingers hovered over the small keyboard portion of Devlin’s tablet. She’d logged into her email using the
Wi-Fi hotspot that Devlin had written on a piece of paper. Over one hundred spam emails had already been deleted, the ones relating to the last few cases she’d been working on for D&D Investigations reviewed and put into folders. Bree Desdune was her back-up so each of those emails were copied to her as well. This meant that Bailey’s cases and their clients hadn’t been left dangling in the weeks since Bailey had been away. For that, at least, Bailey could be thankful.
She’d been away. She wouldn’t think of it as being kidnapped, even though a vacation, it definitely had not been.
Still, she didn’t know how to respond to this current email she was reading. She knew she needed to respond, she just simply did not know how.
I read in the papers what happened to you. Please
reply to let me know that you are okay. I don’t want to have to contact anyone else. I want you to be safe now. The papers said you were rescued but your current whereabouts were unknown. Please,
please, Bailey, please reply. B
Brynne had been communicating with Bailey for the last few months via email. She’d gone away just before the results from the DNA test had come back. Uncle Bernard and Aunt Jocelyn had been beside themselves with worry. Aunt Jocelyn’s anxiety being heightened the day it was announced that Uncle Bernard was Dane’s father. And Keysa, Bailey had really wanted to tell Keysa where her younger sister was and why she was gone, but Brynne had sworn her to secrecy. Truth be told, Bailey had been very proud of Brynne and what she was doing for herself. The fact that she thought she had to do it without anyone in the family knowing had been a little disconcerting, but again, Bailey had understood. The Donovans loved fiercely, but they had high expectations. From the seniors to the elders above them, Bailey’s generation had certain parts of their lives planned out for them and there was strict scrutiny whenever one of them strayed from that path. Bailey knew this from experience.
With that thought, Bailey stood, setting the tablet on the coffee table as she went to the window. She couldn’t possibly respond to Brynne without having answers for herself. Bailey also wanted to be able to tell her cousin that it was okay for her to let everyone know where she was, that what she’d done would be accepted by the people who loved her. Bailey wanted to be able to speak confidently about her own situation. She wanted to say that she was alright, that the kidnapping had thankfully come to an end and that now all was well. But that would have been a lie, one Bailey simply wasn’t willing to tell.
